Our History

August 2019 – Dr. Awesome is hired! Tyler Yates, M.D., officially becomes the Brody Borlaug Distinguished Scholar of Pediatric Immunology at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

June 2016 – Jeff becomes President and Board Chair of the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation.

October 2016 – A formal search is launched for Pediatric Immunology at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

October 2015 – Endowed Fund reaches initial goal of $1 million to fully endow the Brody Borlaug Professorship in Pediatric Immunology.

December 2012 – Jeff and Tracy Borlaug signed the Brody Borlaug Pediatric Immunology Endowment Agreement for professorship in Pediatric Immunology.  The purpose of the endowment is to ultimately create a professorship in Immunology in Brody’s name at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

June 2012 – Jeff Borlaug was elected to the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, joining an already stellar line up of business, civic and philanthropic leaders. Jeff brings a unique perspective to the board based on his personal experience and time spent at Doernbecher with Brody.

March 2012 – Jeff and Tracy received recognition as the recipients of the Commercial Association of Brokers 2011 Co-Humanitarian Of The Year Award for their efforts establishing the Brody Borlaug Foundation.

Fall 2011 – an evolving endowment–with a specific use for Pediatric Immunology–was established in Brody’s name at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The incredibly generous community of people that we are surrounded by, and proud to be a part of, contributed an initial $12,500 to the Brody Borlaug Immunology Fund in his memory.

August 2011 – Tracy and Jeff Borlaug start the Brody Borlaug Foundation, just two months after Brody passed. The inaugural golf tournament was held five weeks later, raising $31,000. In October, a check in this amount was presented to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital towards the Brody Borlaug Immunology Fund.
